Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Find answers about how teams are made, what is saved, and how reshuffling works.

Start making teams
How are the teams made?

The app shuffles the participant order and deals people across the teams. Everyone is assigned once, and team sizes differ by no more than one.

How different can the team sizes be?

The largest and smallest teams differ by no more than one person. When the total does not divide evenly, some teams have one extra person.

Can I enter the same name more than once?

Yes. Each line is treated as a separate participant. Add a surname or number if you need to tell people with the same display name apart.

Are participant names sent anywhere?

No. In the MVP, participant names and team making are handled in your browser and are not sent to a server or external API.

Where are my input and results stored?

Only the input and settings are saved in this browser on this device. Results stay in the current tab and are not saved permanently.

How do I delete my input?

Use “Start over” on the team maker, or delete this site's data from your browser settings.

Can I reshuffle with the same settings?

Yes. Keep the names, participant count, team count, and team names, then select “Shuffle again with the same settings.”

Can reshuffling produce the same teams?

Yes. Because the assignment is random, part or all of a new result can match the previous result.

How many participants and teams can I use?

You can use 2 to 200 participants and 2 to 20 teams. The team count cannot exceed the participant count.

Can the app balance skills or other attributes?

Not in the MVP. Review and adjust the result yourself if age, experience, language, preferences, or other needs matter.

Will switching languages change the names I entered?

No. Participant names and team names you edited stay unchanged. Only interface text and default labels switch languages.

Does it work offline?

The core team maker works in your browser after the page has loaded. A first visit or reload may need a connection. The MVP is not a PWA.
